In my opinion on March 8, 2004, two NHLers lost their playing career, not just one.The infamous hit that fractured Steve Moore’s neck seems to be a play that Bertuzzi will never shake.I, for one, have been waiting for Todd Bertuzzi to find a nice fit on some NHL club, and turn it all around. Yet, after stints in Florida, Detroit and recently Anaheim it has become clear he may never get back to the bruising power forward that scored 46 goals in 2002-03 and looked to be the secondcoming of Cam Neely.Without playing the way that made him a 1st round pick, 23rd overall out of juniors, he may never fit on any NHL club. It’s like Justin Timberlake singing for ACDC, he may have balls…but he doesn’t use ‘em!When Bertuzzi was on his game he was pulverizing opponents in the corners and driving to the net like a freight train, not trying to dance around guys that are 50 pounds smaller.Its hard to believe, when you look at the effectiveness of players like Johan Franzen, Tomas Holmstrom, and Ryan Malone in the playoffs this year, that Bertuzzi can’t bring his game back to that level.There is still a place for the big man in the NHL.There isn’t one if your playing small though, and that is what Todd Bertuzzi needs to realize.He isn’t gonna break anyone’s neck by sending them flying on a clean hit. There were two other guys that piled on Moore, not just Todd.Hopefully he can realize his worth, and get back to the Bertuzzi with a chip on his shoulder.Otherwise I heard that Disney on Ice is looking for someone to play Shrek At least then he wouldn’t have to leave Anaheim..
